About

My name is Viriane. I’m a British–Ivorian researcher working across culture and creative practice. I’m interested in how people make meaning through stories, and how this shapes belonging. My work brings together research, writing, and creative methods to explore cultural experience from different perspectives. I’m especially drawn to projects that sit between academic thinking and cultural practice, using research and storytelling to open up new ways of seeing. My heritage shapes how I think about culture and voice, and I try to stay attentive to the realities and histories that shape people’s lives. Alongside research and writing, I also develop film projects as another way of exploring and sharing ideas. I’m currently working on two short films and preparing an entry for Straight 8 in 2026.
